To Chicago!

In May, we will be residents of Chicago again. It's really only a 10 mile or so move, but a big difference in scenery! I'm excited for several reasons.
1. We'll be just outside of downtown, so we'll have the city at our fingertips.
2. We're moving just in time for the summer, when we'll have time to ENJOY the city.
3. We have a deck with an amazing view of the city. Another way to further enjoy the weather and the city views.
4. I feel young again. :)
5. When we first got married, I didn't do much decorating to our current place in order to be considerate of his transition to living with a girl. He has now given me free reign on our new place.

Not excited for a little bit longer commute to work. I'm hoping it'll be worth it. Hey, we're in our twenties, no kids and in a major city. Why not?

Although I think the deck/patio is by far the best feature of the new place, I am the most excited about reason #5. Once we move and get settled in, there will be some before and after photos. :)

I survived Snowpocalypse 2011

Our back alley, where my car was stuck the night prior. Yes, that is about 2 feet of snow.

Hmmm.... That might be there for a while.

We were feeling a bit stir crazy, so we decided to take a walk to the grocery store. We saw some amazing things! This is a guy standing on a mound of snow that is HIGHER than his car.

On the bright side, we got 2 (hopefully 3) snow days out of this. What should I do tomorrow?

Abandonment and Inspiration

I admit it. I abandoned this blog. I've done it before, and it probably won't be the last time. Thankfully, my two followers are forgiving. :)

2010 left me comfortable and happy. I found no need to vent frustrations to the cyberworld. My husband has lent me his sometimes begrudging ear to my woes and celebrations. The past year also found me in a place of tepid complacency. I didn't really feel that fervor I once held for the power of words and inspirational blurbs.

So, as the new year begins, I find it necessary as a naturally lazy creature to resolve to be inspired once again!

Here's to finding inspiration in our everyday humdrum lives. :)
